Coronavirus Update
Hello family! I wanted to update you about everything I know as of now. School is closed for at least 2 weeks for students. However, I have created a packet in a math workbook for every one of my students. It will be available to pick up in the office. Every student will be given a Eureka Math workbook as well as a packet full of useful educational websites, math worksheets, and reading passages. Epic, Zearn, and Istation are also all available to access at home. I am available for any questions or concerns via email novaks@gcs.k12.nc.us or Classtag! I will continue to update my website daily. I'll be adding read alouds, activities, and resources that can be used to help your chid to learn remotely. I have also added several websites at the bottom of this page to help! Please let me know of any way that I can help during this troubling time!

COVID-19 Lessons

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."

This is a difficult time for many. Together we are going to get through this! For the time being I will use this part of my website to include any materials that may be helpful with the next couple of weeks.

Reading- Students will read at least 20 minutes every night. They will complete a summary sentence in their agenda for the date they read. Parents must sign to confirm.
They will earn a coupon for a free personal pizza at Pizza Hut!

Math- Students will have a weekly homework sheet to be turned in every Friday
A tentative schedule for your remote learners
Every day we had a pretty simple schedule and routine. It looked like this...
Warm up
Read Aloud
Fundations
Independent Reading
Reading lesson (or Read Aloud Activity)
Math lesson
Math Activity

They can still stay within this routine. I am attaching read alouds and activities for every day. I have a presentation labeled Fundations for them to continue their Fundations routine. I placed a Reading log sheet in their take-home packets for them to complete their independent reading and summaries. They can complete any of the sheets in their Eureka Math book or any of the math links for math time. I have included many educational links for them to use during this time as well.
